The Forgotten and the Found..
I found this statement in a magazine article from a few years back which I had completely forgotten about. It was for an article in TIME magazine. Surprised I forgot, it was quite a big deal at the time.
"Although I have photographed the landscape for almost two decades, it was not until recently that I became more environmentally aware of my surroundings and began to apply this to my work ethic.
In the past I was often drawn to the destruction and decay where man had left an impending footprint behind. I shot these scenes without really thinking how the environment had been, or was being affected. However, Looking back on this work I now see that this could not of been done without some kind of concern whether I realized this or not at the time.
Whatever my past motives, this new work would not have been possible without my exploration of the landscape in the last twenty years."
The above picture has nothing to do with it, just thought I would post it here..

Beautiful interiors..
It's always a real pleasure to see my work in what I consider to be the perfect place, that is, in a frame, on a wall, in a home.
As its not very often that I get to see the work after framing, this was a real treat.

8 Poles and 480 seconds..
Due to the current crazy weather it seemed fitting to post a Kenna-esk long exposure job taken when it was windy, wet, dark, miserable and above all very British.
Now I'm all for going out in dramatic weather, do it all the time, but I have to admit to putting my coastal shooting on hold for a while until the beast subsides..

You would be forgiven for thinking I may have lost my blogging ways when all I do is dig out old images and write about myself. But at least I'm a Blogger and not a Bragger. I despise that kind of self indulgent look at me shooting some fancy car surrounded by semi naked women covered in glitter with a budget the size of Cornwall. However, my diary is always open for a big fun shoot..
So looking back, the above image was taken in the spring of 98 in the Queens back garden (Regents Park) at a time when all I had was my trusty Mamiya 7. I always liked the movement of the blossom blowing in the wind. The image was later shown in exhibition I had in the West End (happy days) called Ghost. It was one of my first, and may I say, most successful shows I have had (again, happy days).
As for the image below, Dungeness about ten years ago and thats all you need to know.
It might be time to shoot something new...

Memory Loss..
I came across this old image of mine today, I say old because I cannot remember when I made it. I know where it is, but as I have been there a few times I cannot be sure exactly when..
Its a simple image, no waiting for the light to change, or a light to come on. Maybe it would of been better if I had, I don't know, but what I do know is that I like it. It may be simple, but there's a lot going on. Obviously I chose this particular angle so the cross could be clearly seen, as well as the shape of the chair. Then again, maybe I didn't..
